/Pruneti's Family/

From 1800 to today: our roots

1872

/The beginnings of everything/

There’s no point in looking for the origins of our family, so distant as to seem that it has always been present in San Polo in Chianti: we should cross too many centuries, too many battles, too many vicissitudes.

At any rate, thanks to some written records and to the memory of the older citizens of the town, we can go back as far as the mid-nineteenth century

1900

/The first trade/

At the end of the nineteenth century, the marketing of family-grown products grown began. This included wheat, oil, figs and wine and they could be found in the Florentine markets and in establishments between Florence and the Arno valley. The next phase included the production of the Giaggiolo (or Iris) whose bulbs were requested by the most important and famous French perfume makers who used it as the essence of their perfumes.
It is at this moment that we can truly talk about the birth of the Pruneti farm.

2003

/Gionni and Paolo: a turning point/

After the third generation, Paolo and Gionni Pruneti take over the family business. The Pruneti brothers decide to specialize in the production of olive oil with particular attention dedicated to each production phase: from the restoration of long-standing olive groves to the choice of land and cultivars for the new ones, from pruning techniques to the improvement of the pressing process, and, of course, extending to the conservation of the olive oil itself.

ORA

/Pruneti Today/

The decision to expand the olive oil market with respect to traditional direct sales led to the sale of the product in both Italy and abroad.

This choice resulted in Pruneti receiving numerous awards and recognition all over the world.

/Our production process/

The oil mill is the special place for the production of extra virgin olive oil. It is precisely here that our experience, intuition and passion, knowledge and technology come into play, determining in a very short time the organoleptic properties of this fresh and wonderful olive juice.

Cultivation

For over 160 years we have been cultivating our olive groves following the principles of organic farming

Collection

The olives are harvested by hand at the moment of optimal maturity of each of the different varieties

Crushing and extraction

The olives are pressed and the oil is extracted through a mechanical process. This procedure uses nitrogen to maintain extremely cold conditions

Bottling

When bottling, nitrogen is inserted into each bottle to preserve the flavors and aromas and to lengthen preservation

Sale

We carefully select our partners and take special care of our international customers
